Organization Restructuring Effective October 2, 2023

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (Tokyo: 4183; President & CEO: HASHIMOTO Osamu) hereby announces reorganization on October 2, 2023, due to Mitsui Chemicals will jointly establish Mitsui Chemicals Asahi Life Materials Co., Ltd. with Asahi Kasei Corporation (Tokyo: 3407; President: KUDO Koshiro) for the two companies’ nonwovens businesses.

1. Details of reorganization

(1) In conjunction with the establishment of the new company, Nonwovens Division under
Life & Healthcare Solutions Business Sector will be closed.

(2) Synthetic Pulp Department of Nonwovens Division under Life & Healthcare
Solutions Business Sector will be transferred to Personal Care Materials Division
under Life & Healthcare Solutions Business Sector.
