President's Message

Mitsui Chemicals Europe's roots go back to its representative office in 1961. In the beginning, the focus was on researching advanced technologies in Europe, but gradually we began importing and selling products developed with our own technologies. In 1989, we established a local subsidiary in Düsseldorf, West Germany, and accelerated our efforts to build a local sales network and establish joint ventures, so that today we cover the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Chemical products have always contributed to people's happiness and quality of life from the beginning until today. Chemical fertilizers have contributed effectively to the increase of food production, has saved people from starvation, and plastic film has drastically increased the shelf life of food. A variety of plastic products featuring light weight, low cost and design quality have improved the quality of life. Meanwhile, these challenges have prompted continued efforts to improve environmental performance and product stewardship.

Through innovation in the chemical industry, we aim to develop technologies and materials that support food preservation, resource efficiency, lower greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy applications, and plastic recycling initiatives.

Our corporate goal is "Better quality of life on a healthy planet", and with our values of "Respectful and Caring, Passionate, Visionary", Mitsui Chemicals Europe GmbH aims to grow together with the local community.
