Following the successful launch of our LinkedIn newsletter Make It Matter, Mitsui Chemicals Europe is pleased to present its second edition. Building on the first issue, this edition brings together technical insights, expert perspectives and personal stories from across our organisation, offering readers a closer look at the topics and people shaping our business.

A closer look at packaging and the PPWR

The second edition opens with a technical topic that is becoming increasingly important for the packaging industry: the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

Our new whitepaper explores why packaging needs to be understood as a complete structure rather than simply a combination of individual materials. It highlights the importance of packaging design, material compatibility, recyclability and the practical requirements that need to be considered throughout the packaging development process.

As regulatory requirements evolve, understanding how different materials and functions work together is essential for developing packaging solutions that meet both performance expectations and future recycling requirements.

Expert insights: Johannes Römer on ADMER™

The second feature introduces Johannes Römer, who shares his expertise and perspective on ADMER™ and its role in multilayer packaging applications.

Bonding technologies play an essential role in bringing different materials together within a packaging structure. Although often invisible in the final product, they are crucial to achieving the required performance, compatibility and functionality.

Johannes also shares insights gained from his experience in the United States, highlighting how market expectations, customer priorities and application requirements can differ across regions. His perspective demonstrates the importance of understanding both material technologies and the markets they serve.

Voices of MCE: The people behind our expertise

The latest edition also introduces a new chapter in our communication activities: Voices of MCE.

Through this initiative, we put the spotlight on 16 colleagues from different departments across Mitsui Chemicals Europe. Their stories offer a more personal perspective on the expertise, experience and commitment behind our business.

From technical specialists to colleagues working closely with customers and partners, the series highlights the people who contribute to our everyday work and help turn knowledge into practical solutions.

By giving our colleagues a platform to share their experiences, we aim to make the expertise behind Mitsui Chemicals Europe more visible and accessible.
